It's already the 2nd week of January, and I have accomplished NOTHING! I wasn't able to get registered for any classes this semester. With all the budget cuts at the college and my so called priority registration being 5 days after registration begins, I was left with nothing. The 2 classes I needed were full 2 days in. I stalked the college site for people that occasionally drop, but no luck this time. I have all the classes required to apply for the Nursing program. I try to remind myself that I probably won't get in for another year, but the little hopefull voice in my head tries to keep me delusional with the thought how great it is that if I get into the program next fall, I'll be done by summer. Stepping up to an RN from an LVN would be so great.
I understand there is a difference between the licenses, but the reality is that exept for the hanging and pushing of IV medications I really do, do the same job. I will know and understand more once I get through with my RN courses, but my actual job won't change that much, and I'll get an extra 10 bucks/hour. And that's just to start! At least that keeps me motivated to deal with the crap.
So for now I live by my favorite quote from 'Finding Nemo', Just Keep Swimming.
